Men weren't the only minds behind great mathematical discoveries. Throughout history, women have made a significant contribution to the world of math. Research a particular mathematician, or visit the list of prizes and degrees awarded to women.
Cornell Theory Center Math and Science Gateway
This site has dozens of links to math Web sites in a variety of difficulty levels. In addition to the regular math subjects, you'll find links on math history, software, fractals, tables, and glossaries.
Cut the Knot
This site is loaded with math brain teasers. Including simple arithmetic to the most complex mathematical concepts, this site has written descriptions of math theories, illustrated with puzzles and problems. Visit the Cut the Knot newsletter, too.
Dave's Math Tables
Need a math table for quick reference? This site has tables for everything from general arithmetic to algebra, geometry, trigonometry, linear algebra, discrete math, statistics, calculus, and more. Visit with a group and use the online white board.
Economics America
To help Americans achieve economic literacy, the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) developed the Economics America site. The site contains ECONnection lesson plans and curriculum created by the NCEE for elementary, middle school, and high school students. Lessons include online interviews with experts, interactive activities and WebQuests, and carefully selected Web site links.
Education 4 Kids: Math
This is a great site for kids in all grades who need extra practice with math. Build flashcards for yourself or your kids, try a math game, drill through mathematics tables, or learn about time and money.
ENC Online
The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse specializes in information on math and science education. In addition to the latest news, you'll find the Digital Dozen, thirteen outstanding new math/science Web sites each month.
iFigure
iFigure provides links to online calculators and worksheets as well as interactive and educational tools useful for helping with homework assignments, budgets, or everyday situations such as calculating calories, buying a car, and estimating wind chill. Students, don't miss the mathematics and science sections, which cover topics such as algebraic and geometric equations and conversions for chemistry and physics.
The MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive
If you're interested in the names and faces behind the theories, visit this site, which is filled with biographies of the world's famous mathematicians. You can also research the history of concepts such as pi, prime numbers, functions, curves, and more.
The Math Forum
This site has everything! From Problems of the Week to Ask Dr. Math, students of any age and at any level can learn new concepts, work problems, and get their math questions answered. Online lesson plans are also available.
Math for Elementary School Kids
Teach R Kids Math is a Web site with a large assortment of interactive lessons that demonstrate basic mathematical concepts.
Math Homework Help

The Math League
This site is designed for students in 4th through 8th grades, but can be enjoyed by anyone interested in math. There's a complete database of math contests, and an important help facility, where you'll find quick charts and examples of math concepts.
